Modern Day Eve

Okay so I am an avid reader. I love to read history books. Strange I know, who would guess. I've become obsessed with the stories of the women behind the men. Eve and Adam. Mary and Jesus. Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln. What keeps standing out to me in all these books I read is how women have been repressed. Never allowed to fully be who they are or that they are who they are because of a man. And what they have suffered because of men. I don't hate men, I love them. But why have women been so shut down? They seem different they are burned at the stake, or stuck in a mental institution. It seems so unfair to me. So on one of my runs these ideas started popping into my head. Modern day Eve. Why was she made from the rib of a man? Why couldn't she stand on her own and be woman on her own I'm not claiming to be knowledgeable about the bible, but this was my interpretation of Eve. Instead of being given a rib from Adam, she is showing us she doesn't need it. She is eating Adam's rib. The apple gag in the mouth was more about her being silenced as a woman. And then I started thinking about gluttony- modern day - anorexia.
